Reviews: What Campers had to say about Adrianna |
"I've been going [to Arts Express] for 3 years - and this was the bestest year yet!" - Joseph Grade 3, Arts Express student
"It was fun and awesome. I liked learning my lines and doing the play. The camp leaders were awesome. It was fun learning about Willy Boy - The most fun I've had this summer!" -Cara, age 9
"I liked the sword fighting and playing games...More sword fighting! Everything was pretty much cool." -Callum, age 11
"I feel more confident with Shakespeare now. I love the stuff we did together! I learned new facts- If I had the chance I would do it again. I loved all the kids there too." -Ashlee, age 10
"The camp directors were VERY friendly. I actually woke up in the mornings! I thought it was awesome - I would like to add: SHAKESPEARE RULES!!" -Alison, age 11
“I liked the fact that you learned many useful skills. I’m proud to say I signed up!”
“The counselors were AWESOME! They made Shakespeare fun and interesting. More Shakespeare! These two weeks have been so cool…I would love to sign up again next year!”
“It was an opportunity to meet new people, learn about Shakespeare and learn a lot about acting. I think it would be even better if it were for the whole summer then at the end of it the cast could do the whole play. But I definitely feel more confident with Shakespeare and acting.”
“I found it amazing! I loved it – it was most definitely one of my favourite camps. I loved the program because it wasn’t just playing games – you got to learn something that could have an effect on your life. Laura, Big Red, and Annabelle [Adrianna's Clown character] are all awesome because even when you get fed up because you forget that one line AGAIN they keep it fun for you! I LOVE IT! :)”
Hi Big Red! Thanks for an AWESOME two weeks at Summer Shakespeareience (I hope I spelled that right). I learned soooo much about Shakespeare and had a great time being Quince. You and Laura were awesome leaders and I had soo much fun. I am really glad I didn't quit after two days like I was going to. Thanks for trying (and succeding) to keep me. I wish you luck in the world of acting, ~*Sonja*~
"The world needs more people like you - they loved your class!" -Aunt to a student who came to an Open Night with Arts Express
I had to write and let you know what a great influence you have with children. You share your acting passion with an open heart. You would make a great teacher (acting or otherwise). You...reinforced all of our teachings...thank you! I hope that all of your and Laura's acting dreams and aspirations are fulfilled. May you have a lifetime of success in all that you do... Thanks again for your strength and wisdom! -Kim A. Maurin, mother of two students
I write this letter to thank you for providing such great service through Hamilton Urban Theatre. I have put my child in many camps over the years, however he has never expressed a greater interest in camp as he did with Hamilton Urban Theatre. He now has a love for drama, which you have given him. He raved about the camp and what he learned daily. He also expressed an appreciation for great writers such as William Shakespeare. He learned the steps to performing a play, as well as being able to follow through and put on a play for an audience. During the camp I noticed his self esteem becoming greater. This influenced him positively in many aspects of his life. I could not thank-you enough for the great job you are doing, however I will try. Thank you, Sharon Laffrenier
“I don’t know what you’re doing to my child but he was up at 5 am asking to go to camp!”
“He just can’t get enough of it! Is there one next year?”
"He really enjoyed it. He wanted to sign up for the next session!" Callum's mother
“They’re so sad that it’s ended!”
“They have never had so much fun learning.”
To Adrianna Prosser, Program Coordinator, Hamilton Urban Theatre Association Summer Camp
On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton & Burlington, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your generous offer of supporting children for your summer camp program. One of our Little Brothers, Callum and his mother can not say enough about how much he enjoyed the program. He was very enthusiastic in telling his case manager about the wonderful experience and that he was staying in touch with some of the kids he met at camp. That's certainly what it's all about, kids enjoying themselves and making wonderful memories. Once again, thank you. Sincerely,
Tracy Newton Director of Services Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hamilton & Burlington
